Training Schedule for 2023
Tuesdays and Thursdays Evenings.
Sundays 10 a.m. at local trails in Montgomery County.
More experienced riders attend the weekend trail ride; less experienced riders attend the weekday practice.
Weekday practices will start and end earlier as the season progresses and the sun sets earlier.

NICA National Fee - $50.00
Maryland Interscholastic League (MICL) Fee - $250
Takoma Park Composite Team Fee - $80.00
The NICA and MICL fees are paid at registration.
Team Jersey: Purchased directly from Team Vendor CostTBD
Fees cover fixed costs for the league and team, and are non-refundable.
Training Season/Events
July through Mid-November
Takoma Park MTB coaches are volunteers. The team will train from July through mid-November, weather permitting. The posted schedule captures the expected dates of training. NICA has strict coach-to-athlete ratios. In the event that we do not have enough coaches for the expected number of athletes, practices may be cancelled or changed.
Tuesday and Thursday practices will mix skill development, fitness, and trail riding. Sunday will be a group ride that focuses on endurance and applying skills to trail riding.
Skills, strength, and endurance require time and consistency to develop. Athletes are encouraged to participate in all three practices a week, especially if they plan to race in September and October.
Tuesday and Thursday practices will take place at Sligo Creek Park or Northwest Branch Park. Weekend rides will be held at one of the many trail systems in Maryland and Virginia, and will be announced weekly .
